As part of the RAS Piping Upgrade Project at the Hammond Sanitary District, Meccon is installing 400 lineal feet of a 33" wide by 72" high new stainless steel liner. This work, along with other piping work that Meccon has completed, is part of a large expansion that will enable the Hammond Sanitary District to nearly triple their treatment capacity from 25 – 30 MGD to near 90 MGD when complete.
Work completed under this Contract consists of the cleaning and solids removal from (11) aeration tanks, installation of new fine bubble diffuser membranes in aeration tanks, cleaning to remove built up sludge and debris from the interior of the aeration piping, installation of new 12" actuated plug valves and magnetic flowmeters on the existing Return Activated Sludge (RAS) at Tanks 1 -6 and new 4" actuated plug valves and magnetic flowmeters on existing Supernatant (SPRNT) at Tanks 1-4.
